A true dwarf. A dense multistem deciduous shrub with an upright, spreading habit of growth. Features dark purple foliage throughout the season, darkening in colour into the fall. Creamy pink blooms in early summer. Pink colour is a nice contrast against the dark leaves. Excellent for small shrub beds. A very adaptable plant. The peeling, tan bark adds an interesting dimension to the landscape. Deer do not particularly care for this plant.
