A multistem deciduous shrub with a more or less rounded form. A hardy, native shrub. A great general purpose shrub for northern climates. Has red bark, which is highlighted by snow, providing a significant winter interest. Grows quite large for the average landscape. Features dark green foliage throughout the season turning to a bright red colour in fall. White late-spring blooms, followed by white ornamental berries in late-summer.
